Bikram yoga day 3
It's 7:42 on Saturday morning and I am on the bus on my way to yoga. My muscles are actually tingling with excitement.
I thought I would have a hard time waking up this morning but just the opposite. Since I knew I had class, I woke up at 430, 6, 630 each time happy I could sleep a little more. Then at 655 I woke up again 3 min before my alarm. Good thing because I forgot my alarm was only set for weekdays. ;-)
I had a soy milk banana and berries shake for breakfast and off I am on the bus. I know the first few poses will be hard as I am sore and the body is stiff in the morning. Will let you know how it goes after class.
.........
It's 9:55am. Bus 1 is packed with Cantonese people heading to Chinatown. I go to funky door yoga on Polk so the bus passes right through Chinatown. At least it's only a 10 min ride. Can't beat the convenience. With my calm from class, I smile as other passengers talks loudly in Cantonese to each other. C'est la vie
Class was great. Both of my favorite teacher was there. Ryan (a girl) was teaching and Mark was taking the class along with one other teacher. I was really stiff in the first two postures but was surprised to relax by midway and still really do a deep class. By the time I laid on the floor 60 min in to do the floor series I knew I can make it through. I also learn something about one posture I never knew we before. That was quite helpful.
I had a pear after class. It was delicious. I will be back again tomorrow at 8am. ;-). Saturday is off to a great start!

7 days of Yoga
Since I want to make 2013 all about new experiences, I decided that one of them is doing bikram yoga 7 days straight and see how I feel. I had done bikram for 8 years now but never more than 3 times a week and never even two days in a row.
I just wanted to see how I feel. I just finished day 2 and so far so good. Day 2 class started out rough as I was a little sore but by the 8th posture, my body got into it and now I feel pretty relaxed. A fresh coconut after class also helped.
Tomorrow will be rough as I am planning to go at 8 am. Wish me luck. :-). If you want to see a full list of 75 experiences on my wish list, go to this link. http://bemycareercoach.com/3671/career-advice/work-life-balance/2013-experience-list.html. Let me know if you have suggestions on any other experiences.

Lingling Knows Lao Lao
Lingling has been learning from Agnes the word "Lao Lao" and "Lao Ye" which means grandma and grandpa in Chinese. Agnes would hold a picture up of "Lao lao" or "Lao ye" and say the words. Well "Lao Ye" is still pretty tough for Lingling but she knows and can say "Lao Lao" when we hold up a photo.
see this video - pretty cool (considering she still doesn't call me "mama" :-()

Isabel's First Pottery Painting Class
On Sunday, I planned a playdate for Isabel with 4 of her friends to paint Pottery. Isabel loved it as did all of her friends. She is so grown up now so I wanted to expose her to more art. the Rainbow coin bank is hers. Her ninong will pick it up for her in a week after they glaze it.

Isabel's First Karate Seminar - with Senior Sensei
On Friday, both Jaime and I left work a little early so we can take Isabel to her first Karate Seminar with the grand master of Karate - who was born in Japan and now lives in LA. Isabel seems to be the only child invited from the SF Karate classes. It was quite an experience for Isabel

Swimming class by herself
Isabel started swimming last week - she goes all by herself and we just watch from the sidelines.
She is making a ton of progress now and on sat dunked her head all the way and picked up an octopus toy at the bottom of the pool. Pool is about 2-3 feet tall.
So proud of her.

Mornings with mama
Isabel is growing up so fast and I want to do more things with her on a regular basis. So now on Tuesdays and Fridays morning, I spend an hour with her at the coffee house before going to work.
Here she is carrying my bag with her coloring book and pens. She is getting to be such a big girl.

Opening Car Seat Present from Lao Ye and Lao Lao
Since my parents couldn't be there with us at Xmas, I took a video of Isabel opening their present - a convertible booster car seat as she is a big girl and her little sister will now use her other seat. Isabel is very happy

Alexis Signature Crawl
Alexis still loves to crawl and she is very good at it. She does it with so much cuteness that I am not sure I want her to walk yet. She tilt her head from side to side when she crawls to express her enjoyment. See this video

Kindergarten Application Submitted
Who knew applying to public school for 5 year old could take so much time. Well after many tours of different elementary school, I submitted the application today in person at 555 Franklin.
All apps have to be submitted in person by Jan 22 so I thought I beat the rush. Her school choices are
- Starr King Mandarin Immersion program
- Sherman General Ed
- Garfield General Ed
- John Chin General Ed
Her language test is on Sat Jan 26. Fluency in Mandarin will help greatly to get our first choice. crossing our fingers. We don't find out until March 15.

Alexis loves real food
Forget gerber. Once Alexis started eating food from the table she is not going back. Smart kid as our food has much more flavor than the baby stuff. Here she is eating a corn dog and loving it
