Once Again, Agnes rocked it and created this story for our Alexis. She is 16 months old. Wow. time flies. Enjoy the video!

My Mom's Visit to SF

My mom just visited for 5 days and the weather was gorgeous. We had a chance to go to the beach in Pacifica, check out the Exploratorium and she got to see Isabel ice skate and swim.    here are the photos.  Hope she will decide to come back soon :-)

Safety first

I didn't ask isabel to look at this but while taking off and landing on the way to sfo from Houston two weeks ago, I caught her reading the safety card intently as if it was a cartoon book. I guess it was because it was full of pictures. She was studying it for a good 10 min.  :-)

My strong Alexis

It's been a tough two months for Alexis. She has had two high fevers, a stuffy nose/cough, a weird rash, blisters on her tongue and gums from the last fever and major teething as her molars came out already. But wow she is such a trooper.

First of all, for anyone who maybe overly concerned by this news, ALEXIS IS FINE AND A HEALTHY CHILD. Don't worry. This has just been a tough cold season and with big sister bringing home every germ from her preschool, Alexis is getting quite a few of them.

Good news is LingLing is building such a great immune system now since her body has learned to fight it all now. Dr say all is very normal.

I am so proud that LingLing is so strong through it all. She only got whiny for a day or two as she couldn't eat well. Her mouth hurt so much. All that is OVER thank goodness and crossing our fingers. Even when she had fevers, she would still play, laugh. This photo was taken last week while she had a fever. She is much tougher than us adults. If I had those blisters I would be much more whiny.

Looking at the big picture, I am so thankful for my two healthy kids. Sure each had their challenges - isabel with her face rashes and Alexis with these several colds lately. But all in all, its just normal growing pains for them and for us.

Thank god for agnes who did most of the night comforts as Alexis would get up several times at night. Crossing our fingers, this is the last of it.

Motherhood continues to be a roller coaster ride but I still LOVE IT!

Many kisses to my babies

Update: Alexis ate pretty well today. Almost back to normal. Yeepy

My run in sugar land.

I was lucky to fit a 30 min run in while my parents played with isabel. The run was tough as it was hot and humid for me. It was probably only 80 degrees. I was able to run around the river that was by the playground and take some photos along the way. Texas has some big houses.

Stomping ground in sugar land.

Just like the daly city playhouse there is one called stomping ground in sugar land. She had so much fun the only picture I could get of her were her running away with another kid called Emma and her resting for water and a snack.

Isabel at a water park in Sugarland

It was pure luck that we decided to go to the nearby playground 5 min drive from my parents house and discovered they have added a mini water park. It was a warm 78 degrees and isabel was in rare form allowing herself to get soaked in her clothes. Usually she wants to change just after getting a little water on her clothes.

Luckily my mom went back to get her towels and a change of clothes. She had a blast.

Isabel's first plane ride

Isabel was excited about everything  at the airport including the moving sidewalk
And the kids play area while we waited to board.
Last Friday I took isabel on her first plane ride ever. We went to visit my mom and dad in houston. Isabel was so excited. She asked me everyday last week - are we going to houston an she was telling all her friends.

Did you know kids under 18 don't need ids and kids under 12 don't need to take off their shoes through security.    It was quite pleasant and low stress.

There were a few funny moments where isabel asked me about 20 times are we there yet.  She has no concept of how long it take to go to houston and asked me how come the plane is so slow?  All in all though she was a perfect little passenger, talking nonstop as always.

The only low lights were united took away kids board first, we had to wait for her stroller by airplane door for 10 min, and a super rude service lady at houston airport rushing isabel down the escalator.  All in all small stuff and our trip was very smooth

Almost Gave Agnes a Heart Attack

A week ago, after we left for work, Agnes emailed us this video and told us this story.  Alexis is pretty independent in roaming around the apt now on her own.  Agnes was making the bed and she couldn't hear Ling LIng so she called out "Lexi?  Lexi?" No answer.

So she started looking around for Ling LIng in the kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom all the time calling her various names - Lexi?  Lingling? Alexis?  No answer.

Agnes almost had a heart attack as she had no idea where Alexis was and the front door was NOT open.  Just then, she noticed a head on top of the stroller she laid out.  They were preparing to go out and apparently Lexi couldn't wait and climbed on top of the stroller on her own.  Agnes was so relieved and couldn't believe it.  Lexi usually answers when we call for her, but this time she knew she was hiding.  When Agnes found her on the stroller she had a huge grin on her face.

Here is the video of how she climbed up there - crazy girl.  now we have to make sure we don't leave stroller or climbing steps out.  That girl will climb anything.
