Fun day at the zoo

Our membership is almost expiring so we went to the zoo today. Perfect weather. Our new friend Amy joined us as she is new to SF.

We loved the red panda, the monkey with the black and white heavy fur cape, the bear in Buddha pose and the other one sleeping, rhino, hippo, snow leopard, tiger, lion, penguin, pilot bear, giraffe, anteater, zebra, peacock, etc.

Now time for a nap!

Alexis does big slide on her own

She has been scared of it for a year. Finally we convinced her to try it with isabel at the bottom to get her. Now she is addicted and won't stop sliding on her own down the big slide. My little girl is getting big :-( :-)

Fun ice skating date

We went ice skating on Sunday afternoon. Super fun. Isabel is so at ease now on the ice. She taught me how to skate backwards a bit. It was liberating also to not wear any knee guard. They inspired me to risk a little. My legs were so happy to not have my circulation cut off by those horrid pads.

Jumping into cold donner lake

This is the second time I jumped in cold turkey this week. The water temp is about 64 degrees at donner lake. A birthday bucket list I guess. ;-). Very refreshing and cold.

Kayaking with Alexis

I finally convinced Alexis to come to the beach and go kayaking. She had a great time. Was so much fun although will be sore tomorrow.

After some convincing, she went for it and we had a great time. She was a great little partner with me in the single kayak. I will be sore tomorrow. I can feel it now. We came home to yummy turkey tacos!

Kayaking at Donner Lake

We had a great morning at donner lake. Crowds are gone and it was just a perfect 75 degrees and an hour of kayaking. I am sore now but it was super fun.

Isabel went with her new friend Valerie who she met just on Sunday. Luckily she lives in marine so we will have more play dates when we get back

Happy birthday lei!

I am having a fabulous day.  We are up at a friends cabin in donner lake for the week.  Came here Sunday.  

Today started with

- eggs and pancakes for breakfast

- run for the first time in six weeks

- jumped in the cold lake cold turkey. Woo that woke me.  

- had the decadent lunch with grilled everything. 

- now at the beach hanging out.
